The sixth day of my September 2005 photo series. During my apprenticeship I didn't have the time and room to keep a companion animal myself yet. So on weekends, which I usually spent in Potsdam with my parents, I often went to the animal shelter to take dogs for walks. By 2011 this animal shelter does not exist anymore. The photographs below show Barry who might be a Miniature Pinscher. I think he was the first dog from Potsdam's animal shelter whom I took for a walk, but these photographs are not from our first time. The captions are from the time the photos were taken.

a light green sign with the dark green words "Tierheim Potsdam" on it
The signs says Animal shelter Potsdam.
a small dog, maybe a Miniature Pinscher, sniffing on the ground at the wayside
This is Barry sniffing at the ground. There are many scent marks around the animal shelter.
the little dog sniffing at the grass
Barry's so cute. I wonder how big he will be once he is grown up.
a blurred photograph of a way through the forest
We jogged…
a way through the forest
…through the forest.
a car parking before one of several fences; in the background low houses
This is the animal shelter.
a sign with an arrow pointing in one direction and the caption "Einsatzführungskommando der Bundeswehr"
The Einsatzführungskommando der Bundeswehr is the headquarters for missions of the German military in foreign countries.
