14: Inconsistent number of tags

This error message has been obsolete since version 28 of the Aneamal Translator. Please update to the current version.

Legacy information

You used a tagged list with a varying number of tags for list items. However, the number of tags for each item must be the same throughout one tagged list.

Solution

Make sure you use the same number of tags for each item in a tagged list. Items are defined by a line beginning with a tag. Tags are surrounded by pointy brackets < >. Here is an example with one tag for each item in a list that associates spoken words with the person who said them:

<Bruce>  What about getting back into the plane?
<Lucius> I'd recommend a good travel agent.
<Bruce>  Without it landing.
<Lucius> Now that's more like it, Mr. Wayne.

Tags can be concatenated to create double-tagged lists. Here is an example with two tags for each item:

<Batman><real name>   Bruce Wayne
<Batman><residence>   Gotham City
<Superman><real name> Clark Kent
<Superman><residence> Metropolis
